LEXINGTON, KY. – Coach Cal recently announced via twitter that his Basketball Fantasy Experience Weekend expanded and will boast the heaviest attendance of his yearly events to date.
A host of sports celebrities, including several members of the John Calipari coaching tree, plan to serve as coaches for the fantasy experience. The list of the eight fantasy team coaches includes John Calipari, Seth Greenburg (ESPN Analyst), Derek Kellogg (Head Coach: UMass), John Robic (UK Assistant), Jerry Wainwright (Former Head Coach: Richmond), Dino Gaudio (ESPN Analyst), Tony Barbee (UK Staff), and Kenny Payne (UK Assistant). Austin Kearns (Lexington Local and former Cincinnati Red) will also be in attendance as a camp participant.
The Experience provides the opportunity to spend a weekend living the life of a Kentucky Wildcat basketball player. Attendees compete in Lexington Center’s Rupp Arena and receive expert instruction from the eight camp coaches. There are also elite social events, including an exclusive dinner courtside at Rupp Arena.
“Our Fantasy Experience Weekend is now a staple to kick off the season,” Calipari said. “The money we raise for charity makes it extra special. This year, we have expanded the camp to an eight team format and have added several UK fanatics from around the county as well as sports celebrities like Lexington’s own Austin Kearns. We have only three spots left in the expanded camp format and fully expect those to be filled by the end of the weekend.”
