Cats' skill players further along now than last season

LEXINGTON Ky. (WYMT) - The Kentucky Wildcats had their four game winning streak versus the Louisville Cardinals snapped last season losing by the score of 24-17.

With the Cats just 4 days away from their season opener, head coach Joker Phillips says he thinks his skill players are further along at this point in the season compared to last year.

"But I feel better about our depth at some of the play-making positions", said Phillips. I thought we had a couple play-makers at the wide receiver. We didn't show last year. I think we have more depth at the play-making position this year than we did last year. I feel really good about Max Smith. He's playing at a real high level, getting the ball out of his hands. Those things are important in moving the football."
