Cavalier volleyball drops home match to Brevard

WISE, Va. - Visiting Brevard completed a season sweep of host UVa-Wise with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-16) victory at the Prior Center on Tuesday. The victorious Tornadoes (6-12) took advantage of 20 hitting errors, six service errors, five reception errors, and three ball-handling errors by the Cavaliers (6-13) in earning the victory.

In the loss, UVa-Wise’s Karley Allen led all players with 13 kills; she also added four digs in the match. Jessica Henry posted a team-best 13 assists while also picking up four digs defensively.

Brevard was led by Erin Rollins who finished with 10 kills on 17 attempts. The Tornados’ setter Kayla Hanus posted a match-high 31 assists in the non-conference match.

The Cavaliers will return to play on Friday when team returns to Mountain East Conference play with a trip to West Virginia State. The match is set to begin at 7 pm.
