Cavalier women knock off nationaly ranked Patriots

Wise, Va. –UVa-Wise used a team-high 24 points and 13 rebounds from Chelsea Cluesman to end its five game losing streak with a 71-64 victory over #25 St. Catharine College at the Prior Center on Saturday.

The victorious Cavaliers led wire-to-wire in the win as Kristin Kunzman’s club limited the visitors to just 34.3 percent shooting for the game. Charlotte Reasor added 16 points in the win while Christine Nyobe chipped in 12 off the bench.

In the loss, Janae Howard scored a game-high 28 points off the bench and Reilly Poirier scored 17 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
The victory improves UVa-Wise to 6-12 on the season and 3-6 in Mid-South play. The Cavs will return to action on Monday when Georgetown College visits the Prior Center for a 4:00 p.m. tip.
