Wise, Virginia - On Saturday January, 28th, the UVa-Wise women's basketball team will be hosting "We Back Pat Day" at the Convocation Center. That day, UVa-Wise and Cumberlands (KY) will wear orange and purple to raise awareness for Alzheimer's.
University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summitt was diagnosed with Alzheimer's last summer and since has established the Pat Summit Foundation to raise awareness and help fund Alzheimer's research. Fans attending Saturday's contest are encouraged to wear either orange or purple to show their support for Alzheimer's awareness. Tip-off against Cumberlands (KY) is set for 2:00 p.m. inside the UVa-Wise Convocation Center.
