Cavaliers unable to tame Tigers

Georgetown, Ky. – Georgetown College duplicated its 51 point first half performance in the second half to coast to a 102-62 victory over UVa-Wise on Saturday.

The Tigers (18-5, 10-5 Mid-South) placed five players in double figure scoring, including a game-high 23 from Tyrone Shelley to complete a season sweep of the Cavaliers (10-9, 6-8 Mid-South). As a team, the taller and more athletic host out-rebounded the visitors 44-27 while collecting 11 offensive rebounds.

Charles George scored a team-high 13 points off the bench in the loss as the Cavaliers leading scorer, Javon Moore, was held scoreless for the first time in his career. Moore left the contest after only two minutes of play with an injury.

UVa-Wise will return to action on Thursday when Campbellsville University visits the Prior Center for an 8:00 p.m. tip. You can hear all the action on www.uvawisecavs.com
