Coach Matney previews Ashland Blazer match-up

PAINTSVILLE, Ky (WYMT) - The Johnson Central Golden Eagles are undefeated heading into their game this Friday night that will ultimately decide the Class 4A District 8 Championship.

The Golden Eagles have scored a total 466 points this season, while only giving up 94, but Head Coach Jim Matney says all bets are off when Johnson Central plays the Tomcats of Ashland Blazer.

"It's been the district championship game for the past 8 years in a row. So it's a huge game for our community, we've been fortunate to win 6 or the last 8 games, 6 of the last 8 district championships, but we know that each one is a new battle. It's very difficult to beat Ashland at Ashland. It's just one of those games people circle on their calendar," said Coach Matney.
