WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Football program is currently on a hot streak as they have been able to hang over 60 points in each of its last two games, both being convincing Mid-South Conference (MSC) East Division wins. Last week, the Patriots routed the Tigers of Campbellsville by a score of 62-19, improving their season record to 8-1 with a MSC record of 4-1. In the game, one Patriot stood out among the rest and for his efforts was honored by two different organizations.
Terrance Cobb (Knoxville, TN) was named both the MSC and NAIA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. In Saturday's demolition of Campbellsville, Cobb set three school records as he carried the ball 27 times for 327 yards and 3 touchdowns. His 327 yards for the game is now the single game record for rushing yards which gives him 1,472 yards on the year. He also broke the single season record for rushing yards as well as single season record for touchdowns as he now has 21 on the season.
Cobb has now rushed for at least 250 yards and 3 touchdowns in three consecutive games. He currently leads the MSC and NAIA in rushing yards, rushing yards per game (163.3 ypg), rushing touchdowns, and all purpose yards (1,650).
Cobb and the Patriots will carry this momentum into Saturday's game as they travel to Grayson, KY to take on Kentucky Christian University who is carrying a 4 game winning streak into this weekend's showdown. Kickoff is set for 1:30 pm.
