MOREHEAD, Ky. – Former Morehead State basketball standout Demonte Harper, best known for his late game three-pointer that helped the Eagles to a second round NCAA Tournament win over Louisville two seasons ago, has been added to the Denver Nuggets’ Summer League roster.
Harper will join former Eagle teammate Kenneth Faried for the Nuggets’ five-game schedule beginning July 14. All games will be played in Las Vegas and will be televised by either Altitude Entertainment or NBA TV.
Harper finished his MSU career in 2010-11 by being named to the Lou Henson All-America Team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 19 Team. He was crowned Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Most Valuable Player after helping the Eagles to their second tournament title in three seasons.
He concluded his collegiate career with 1,436 points, placing him 13th all-time at MSU.
Harper graduated with a bachelor’s degree in May 2011 and participated in an Atlanta Hawks’ mini-camp before landing a professional contract with KK Cibona VIP Zagreb in Croatia. He led the team in scoring during its Euroleague play.
The Nuggets will face Golden State, Dallas, New York, Charlotte and Portland during the one-week event.
