Eagle women shoot to even season series with Belmont

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State women's basketball team, fresh off a 20-point win Saturday, will look to even its season series with Belmont when the Bruins visit Johnson Arena Monday for a 6 p.m. ET contest.

The Eagles (10-12/4-5 OVC) can also get back to .500 in the OVC East Division with a victory. MSU is 4-7 at home in 2013-14. Belmont (9-14/6-4 OVC) has won two straight but is just 3-9 in road games this season.

Monday games are Family Fun Nights at Johnson Arena. All tickets are half price and are available by clicking here. Parking is free.

Belmont Rewind
MSU nearly erased as much as a 16-point deficit last Monday night at Belmont's Curb Event Center, but the host Bruins held on for a 71-65 victory. Terrice Robinson finished with a team-best 27 points, her team-best ninth 20-point effort and 17th double-figure game.

Milestone Win for Hodges
Head Coach Tom Hodges recorded his 50th career head coaching victory Saturday when the Eagles defeated Jacksonville State 73-53.

Pass It, Score It
The Eagles lead the OVC in assist-field goal ratio. Sixty-six percent of the time MSU makes a basket there is an assist.

Welcome to the Club
Terrice Robinson became the 21st member of the 1,000-point club at Morehead State on Jan. 25 at Tennessee State. With 1,050 career points, she is now ranked 19th in career scoring in program history.

Live by the Three
Morehead State averages 7.6 three-pointers made and 24.6 three-pointers attempted per game. MSU has put together six consecutive seasons with at least 200 three-pointers made. They need just 33 more to reach the 200 mark this season.

In the NCAA Rankings
The Eagles rank in the NCAA Division I top 40 for three pointers made per game.

High Percentage at the Line
In its last six games, MSU shot better than 70 percent at the free throw line. Last season, MSU finished the year at 73.6 percent from the line, which ranked as the second-best season efficiency in program history.

Playing Like a Captain
Almesha Jones has averaged 19 points, 6.8 assists and 3.0 steals per game in her last six outings. Jones has recorded 16 double-figure scoring games this season and has 36 to her credit for her three-year career.

Miss Robinson
Terrice Robinson ranks seventh in the Ohio Valley Conference with 17.5 points per game. She has 20 career 20+ point games. She also has 46 career double-figure scoring games to her credit.

Gimme That
Almesha Jones currently ranks second in the OVC in steals per game at 2.3. With 154 career swipes to her credit, Jones ranks eighth in program history in steals.

Assist Leader
Almesha Jones, who leads the OVC in assists per game with 5.5, has recorded 28 career games with at least five assists. Thirteen of those games have come this season.

Career Days for This Trio
Three Eagle players, junior Mackenzie Arledge and freshmen Shiloh Murphy and Aaliyah Wells, had career highs Saturday against Jacksonville State. Arledge scored a career-best 15 points and also completed a double-double with 10 rebounds. Murphy sank a career-best five three pointers for 15 points, while Wells came off the bench for a career-high 10 points.
