MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State softball team returns to University Field this weekend for a three-game series against Ohio Valley Conference-leading UT Martin. The Eagles and Skyhawks are set for a 1 p.m. ET doubleheader on Saturday, followed by a single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

MSU sits at 12-29 on the season and owns a 5-15 mark in the OVC. UT Martin is 31-15 in 2012 and is the conference frontrunner with an 18-3 tally. The Skyhawks finished third in the league standings a season ago.

Junior first baseman Amber Riddle tied the Morehead State single-season home-run record with a two-run shot in the second game against Marshall. She ties former Eagle Rebecca Butler, who registered 10 long balls a season ago. Riddle now owns 25 four-baggers in her MSU career.

Senior left fielder Kayla Brill set the Morehead State career record for most times hit by a pitch with 41 in 2012. The record was previously held by Michelle McCrady, who was collected 33 HBPs from 2002-05. The New Martinsville, W. Va., native leads the OVC with 13 HBPs this season.

Junior pitcher Katie Pfost leads the Eagles in the circle with a 3.06 ERA and 78 strikeouts in 109.2 innings. She has posted a 4-11 record in her first season at MSU.

Morehead State ranks first the OVC with a .279 batting average, followed closely by Jacksonville State and UT Martin at .275.

The Eagles next head to Lexington, Ky., for a single contest against Kentucky on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
