MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State men’s basketball team will travel to Oakland (Mich.) for the Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters event on Saturday, Feb. 23. Tip-off from the Athletics Center O'rena is set for 5 p.m. ET.
Oakland is currently 11-13 overall, 6-4 in the Summit League and 7-1 at home. Morehead State is 11-13 overall, 5-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference and 3-10 on the road. This will be the first meeting between the two programs.
The Golden Grizzlies, who advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 and 2011, have collected 20-or-more wins in each of the past four seasons. Head Coach Greg Kampe has registered 501 victories in 29 years at OU.
“We’re looking forward to playing another quality opponent in a challenging environment,” MSU Head Coach Sean Woods said. “Oakland has enjoyed a lot of success in recent years. They will be tough, especially on their home floor.”
The event has been around since 2003 and will feature all OVC programs for an eighth straight season, but organizers recently announced this will be the final year. MSU’s last BracketBusters win came in 2011 at Indiana State.
