Expectations remain high for UK Hoops team

HAZARD, Ky. Talking to boosters and fans Thursday at 1st Trust Bank's "meet the Coaches" was Kentucky women's head coach Matthew Mitchell. Last season Mitchell led the UK Hoops team to its third elite eight in the last four seasons, but now must prepare for life without SEC Player of the Year A'dia Mathies. Even without the All-American point guard, Mitchell says expectations for next year remain the same.

"The expectations are the same," says Mitchell. "We always want to just try and be our best. Now, our best is I think could be a championship level team but that's just what they're capable of. Can they really get that done? Can they come together? Can they do all the hard work that it takes to get that accomplished? That remains to be seen. But I do think we have some talent and I think we can have a good team this year."
