MOREHEAD, Ky (WYMT) - The Morehead State football team will enter year number two of the Rob Tenyer era and Friday the Eagles held their annual Football Media Day.
Jamie McCracken: "I'm here with Morehead State football player Rob Lewis -- of course, a Southwestern graduate -- and now you come here to Morehead and you are entering your third season here at Morehead State. What are the goals for this year after what you saw and what you went through last year?"
Our goals for this season of course are to win our championship and to have a winning season, and then, just for me, be a great teammate. You know it's not all about the stats; it's all about how you bring your teammates along with you and how you carry it, because if you bring your teammates and you make one unit out here, it's going to make us win games and we are going to stay together when things get tough around here. And that's the things we have worked on around here and you can see it. When we come together and stay as a group, later on in the fourth quarters of games and late on in the season, it'll help us win games and that's what we are looking to do here: win games and go on and win a PFL championship.
What did you guys learn from last season in such a down year?
Rob Lewis: "What I learned last year is never to give up. You know you always got to keep fighting and keep working hard because, you know, because you never know when it's going to change around the corner. All of the work we put in, it's already starting to change so you just gotta keep working. It's not given to you; you gotta earn it and you just gotta keep fighting and working toward what you need to get to and that's what we are doing here."
