Former Whitley Co. running back, Jones, expects big things from Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky (WYMT) - Kentucky fullback and former Whitley County running back Cody Jones is entering his second season as a Wildcat after transferring from Morehead State.

Last season, Jones started the fall as the number one fullback on the depth chart, and this season he'll be battling for a starting job again. WYMT caught up with Jones as he talked about his expectations for the Wildcats.

"No one expects much of us this year. We are suppose to win three games, projected. But I think we are going to surprise a lot of people this year", said Kentucky fullback Cody Jones. "We have an explosive offense. We have some receivers who can catch the ball this year. And I think we are going to have a great team. We are really young, but really fast and talented. We got a few play makers that are really coming up, that no one saw from last year, and played big in the spring game. I think we are going to do some big things this year."

Kentucky will begin their season on the road at Louisville on Sunday, September 2nd at 3:30pm. The game can be seen on ESPN.
