PIKEVILLE, Ky. – No. 4 Pikeville will head into the break with a sparkling 13-1 worksheet after a 112-63 win over St. Andrews University Monday night at the East Kentucky Expo Center.
Pikeville blistered the nets for 58.6 percent shooting from the field and hit 14-of-28 from the arc while holding St. Andrews to 32.4 percent overall.
On the day he was named Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season, senior guard Jamar Briscoe fired in 32, including 6-of-11 from the arc. He added six rebounds, four assists and a steal.
Remarkably, on a night his team poured in 112 points, only two teammates reached double figures. Senior guard Trevor Setty finished with 20 to go with six rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots, while senior guard Chris Johnson finished with 11 and seven assists.
All 12 Bears in uniform played at least five minutes while 11 of them scored in the win.
Included in that dozen players was junior guard Elisha Justice, the Louisville transfer and former Mr. Basketball, who made his regular-season debut. He finished with three points, five rebounds, three steals and one assist in 21 minutes of action.
St. Andrews (0-9) was led by freshman forward Chris Orr, who turned in the game's only double-double. He finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds, seven of them off the offensive glass.
Senior Demetrius Monroe and freshman D.J. Carnegie had 11 apiece for the Knights.
Pikeville will return to the East Kentucky Expo Center on Thursday, Jan. 3 when it hosts Ohio Christian University. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
