BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (AP) - Max Landis had 19 points, leading
four Gardner-Webb players in double-figure scoring as the Runnin'
Bulldogs crushed Alice Lloyd College, of the NAIA, 87-57 on Tuesday
night.
Stefon Johnson added 14 points while Santoine Butler and Corey
Hensley chipped in 10 apiece for Gardner-Webb (5-6). Landis was 5
of 6 from 3-point range for the Runnin' Bulldogs, who were 6 of 14
(42.9 percent) from long range.
The Eagles were just 1 of 16 (6.3 percent) from beyond the arc.
Kevin Hartley opened the game with a 3 for Gardner-Webb and the
rout was on, as the Runnin' Bulldogs started the game on a 20-6 run
and never looked back. They led by 20 points at the break and
outscored the Eagles 39-29 in the second half to seal it.
Shawn Thompson scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Eagles
(6-4).
