Garrett Clark Commits to UVa-Wise

Kingsport, Tennessee - UVa-Wise's 2012 recruiting class received a major boost on Thursday when Garrett Clark verbally committed to play collegiately as a Cavalier.

At 6'3, 185 pounds the five tool outfielder from Dobyns Bennett High School choose UVa-Wise over ETSU, Radford, Virginia Tech, and Memphis.

A career .368 hitter, Clark has started every year for the Indians while aiding Dobyns Bennett to 73 wins in his first three prep seasons.
In addition to his solid career at Dobyns Bennett where has been an all conference selection, Clark was recently selected to the 2011 Dizzy Dean All-Tournament Team. Previously, he was named an All-American Athletic Foundation All-American by former Major League manager Bobby Valentine.

Overall, Clark has numerous school records including hitting a grand slam as a freshman and five RBI in an inning. Clark is the son of J.D. and Becky Clark; he is undecided on his intended major at UVa-Wise.
