Georgetown completes baseball sweep of UVa-Wise

WISE, Va. –Visiting Georgetown College completed a three-game sweep over UVa-Wise by claiming 14-7 and 14-2 victories in Saturday’s doubleheader at Stallard Field. The Tigers pounded out 32 hits and took advantage of 11 Cavalier errors in the sweep.

Georgetown’s (21-12, 9-6 MSC) Martin Lemus hit a homerun in each game while Jordan Hinshaw also hit a homerun on the day. On the mound, Tyler Arthur and Shaun Meyer each collected wins. The duo combined for 12 innings of work and struck out nine.

UVa-Wise (8-17, 4-8 MSC) got four hits from Tommy Meier and a two-run homerun from Brett Hylton in the losses.
The Tigers claimed a 4-1, 11 inning victory in game one of the series on Friday.

UVa-Wise will return to action on Monday when the team hosts Emory and Henry College at 4:00 p.m.
