Hazard's Olinger named Kentucky co-Player of the Week

FORT THOMAS, Ky. - As word continues to build about our Player of the Week honors, we saw an influx of player nominations this week. While there were many impressive performances from players all over the state, it came down to two players we felt stood out among the crowd.

Andrew Harrington was pretty much unhittable in two starts for No.2 Central Hardin last week.

In his first start of the week against Elizabethtown, the senior left-hander, who will continue his education and playing career at Louisville, fired a five-inning complete game no-hitter with 10 strikeouts.

As if that weren't enough, five days later Harrington was at it again, this time against the defending state champion Woodford County Yellow Jackets.

In a game that featured Harrington and Woodford County ace Clinton Hollon, Harrington's Bruins came out on top in a 1-0 victory. He tossed a complete game three-hit shutout, racking up 13 strikeouts along the way. To add to the impressive performance, Harrington stroked a double that drove in the lone run of the game.

Add the two starts together, and Harrington allowed 3 hits and no runs in 12 innings with a whopping 23 strikeouts.

Jordan Olinger's bat was as hot last week as his No.19 Bulldogs have been of late with 15 wins in their last 16 games.

In 4 games last week, all Hazard wins, the unsigned senior went 9-for-13 at the plate with 2 doubles, 1 triple,
3 home runs, 6 RBI, and 3 stolen bases.

Olinger has now hit 5 home runs on the season after hitting 8 last year as a junior.

In honor of their performances on the field last week, Andrew Harrington and Jordan Olinger have been named Kentucky Co-Players of the Week.
