LOTTS CREEK Ky. (WYMT) - The next team up in our DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tip off series; the Cordia Lady Lions.
The Lady Lions come in to the season with a new coaching staff and a new attitude towards the season. So they are hoping with those changes, they will see a difference on the court.
"It is, it's just a focus of ours this year is to get this team to really come together. Get some cohesiveness there, and let them understand the expectations we have for them", said head coach Dora Webb.
"We expect them to give it their all. We expect them to work hard in practice. WE haven't been there with them that long, so they are not as conditioned as we would like", said assistant coach Betinna Vanover. "So, I feel like earlier in the year, we are going to struggle a little bit. But, say by the time All "A" comes around, I am hoping that we may surprise a few people."
"We expect to come out and surprise some of the fans and just be better than last year", said Lady Lion junior Asha Gonzales.
"Our team this year is small and it is hard for us. But our expectations are we are going to work hard. And we expect to win", said senior guard Whitley Mullins. "We are going to work our tails off."
"We have to try. We can do it, if we just put our heads in to it", said senior forward Alice Walls. "Just everybody has to really work this year. We just can't let a few people do it, everyone has to do it."
