LICK CREEK Ky. (WYMT) - The East Ridge Warriors are next up in our DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tip off series.
The Warriors finished the season 19-13 last year and were runners-up in the 15th region tournament. But this season, they have gone through several changes. Not just with their roster, but with their head coach as well, as Randy McCoy heads back to Pike County.
"What we want to try to do, is take that experience from being in those types of games, and build upon that", said head coach Randy McCoy. "Now, having said that, this is a young basketball team. My goodness. One senior in Dylan Adkins, and some juniors and mostly sophomores. So, we have a lot of work to do."
"Well, last year we were a young team", said senior forward Dillon Adkins. "And we did well going to the region finals, although we fell a little short versus Johnson Central. But, we learned from our mistakes , and I think we can go back and make a better run for it."
"We are trying to come together as a team. You know, like I said, it is a learning process right now, but by the end of the season we should be pretty good", said sophomore guard Johnny Miller.
