PAINTSVILLE Ky. (WYMT) - Up next in our DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tip off series are the Paintsville Lady Tigers.
The Lady Tigers finished last season 22-10, and were the runners up in the 15th region tournament. So this year they look to take the next step. On their way to taking the next step is winning the district, something they have not done since 1932.
"We are working really hard in practice, and you know, we got Shelby back as point guard", said senior forward Maria Lemaster. "Andria back as one of the forwards. And, we gain Eryn back again, and we are expecting to be pretty good. We are working really hard."
"we are working really hard in practice. We expect to win the district, change tat number 1932, it needs to change", said senior guard Eryn Baldwin. "And then hopefully go on to the region, and try to make our way to state."
"Win district. That 1932 has been a long time since that. And hopefully get another shot at being in the finals of the region", said junior guard Shelby Carroll.
"At the end, when it comes to district tournament time, its who wants it the most", said senior forward Andria Hansford. "Who works the hardest, and who has the most heart. Because everyone has a shot. Its just who wants it the most."
The Paintsville Lady Tigers are currently 0-1 on the season.
