CORBIN Ky. (WYMT) - As we continue on with out DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tip off we visit with the Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats.
The Lady Wildcats will look to improve on a season that saw them finish with a 10-15 record. The Lady Wildcats are setting the bar high this season, but they also know in order to be successful, it will start with getting the hands into players like Heather Wilson and Kayla Smith.
"This year, I believe we are going to be able to spread it out a little more", said head coach Richard Jones. "One of the big keys I believe is moving Kayla Smith over to the shooting guard, where she doesn't have to handle the ball the whole game. She is still going to be relied on to handle the ball, but not as the man person to handle it."
"I think we can win the Bowman, district, and class A. I think we have a shot at all of those, if we just concentrate and focus on what we need to do. And, work on the things we did wrong last year, to try to make them better for this year's season", said senior guard Kayla Smith.
"Well, one thing, you have to know how to make a play. Like if someone is playing defense on you and stops your play, you have to know what, like, the back door cut or whatever you can to outsmart them", said junior forward Heather Wilson.
"I have to post. I have to be strong down there. I have to think two steps ahead, and move my feet, and get the ball and call it, and don't just depend on someone else, because I have to be a big part of that", said junior forward Jessica May.
