BOONEVILLE Ky. (WYMT) - The next team up in our DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tipoff series, the Lady Owls of Owsley County.
The Lady Owls enter the 2012-13 season with one major loss in the graduation of Peyton Wright. However, despite her absence, the team feels they have more depth this year than in years past.
"I like this team because we actually have more depth than we've probably had in the last couple of years. We have some young girls that's coming up that have a lot of talent", said head coach Charles Davidson. "We have our older girls that should be able to help them as a player. We should be able to go 8, 9, maybe even 10 deep at the varsity level."
"I know we lost a lot of good players but I believe that we can come together as a team and work good and we get along", said senior forward Kalisha Brandenburg.
"Well, we had Peyton Wright and she mostly grew us to being better and motivating all of the girls to play as a team and just work together", said senior guard Payton Thomas.
"We have a lot of potential as a team when we just come together as a team and try and just stay positive", said senior guard Sky Colwell.
"We're capable of as much as we want to do if we can just work together", said senior guard Kelly Wilson.
