PRESTONSBURG Ky. (WYMT) - Next up in our DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tip off series are the Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats.

The Lady Blackcats are under new direction with first year head coach April Newsome. On top of that, they return zero starters from a year ago. So finding someone to step up this season will be key.

"We are still looking forward to leadership on the floor" said Newsome. "Hopefully that will come. We only have one junior, and one sophomore, and the rest are freshman. So, we are looking for some leadership on the floor."

"Just work hard, our team work, and we will get there if we are in shape", said junior guard Haley Allen.

"I think our outside defense, like, on top, because we are fast and quick. And our offense, because we have good shooters", said freshman guard Tiffany Meadows.

"Just play hard. Give it your all. Leave it all out on the court and there will be no regrets", said sophomore forward Letessa Jarvis.

"They were really strong. They went up strong, and they were aggressive with the ball" said freshman forward Maddy Ousley. "And we need to be more strong and aggressive."
