SOMERSET, Ky. (WYMT) - We travel west for our next DQ Grill & Chill Countdown to Tip-off preview, as we look at the Somerset Lady Jumpers.
The Lady Jumpers have a new coach this season in Erin Walker, and will try to fill the losses left by four graduating seniors, but with strong defense and team work, this team will look to make a run in the post season.
"We're going to be able to switch it up defensively," says Walker. "Somerset is known for playing a 2-3 zone most of the time, but we have put in several different defenses, and we're going to be able to switch it up and show different things."
"We play well together as a team, and the seniors and juniors, we include the younger classmen really well in practice and in games," adds Jessica Wallace, a senior. "We know that they're going to have to play a lot this year so we kind of take them under our wing and help them out."
"It would be a disappointment if we couldn't finish a game like last year. I think we can go far, and I want to get to the region, and actually do well, and the Class 'A' state again, and I think we can," says senior Bethany Edwards.
