High school basketball preview: Wolfe Co. Wolves

CAMPTON Ky. (WYMT) - The Wolfe County Wolves are next up in our DQ Grill and Chill countdown to tip off series.

Last season, the Wolves finished the year with a 13-14 record, and was led by senior Sawyer Denniston, who led the team with 23 and a half points per game. Now that he is graduated, the team has become more balanced and now have multiple options on the offensive end.

"We'll have probably 5 or 6 guys you know, probably in double figures every night. And, you know, its hard to guard us, and hard to match up with all of our guards", said head coach Robert Creech.

"It will be hard for teams to match up with us, because everyone can score", said guard Garrett Dunn.

"I think it is hard for team to match up with us. because you know, with just one guy, teams know who to go for, but with multiple guys, you don't really know what to expect", said forward John Toomer.

"Last year, we kind of relied on one or two guys. This year, we just, you know, no one can just stop one guy and beat us", said guard Hayden Stone.

"I think last year, we didn't have as much team chemistry as this year. We've all played together since we were little. We just know each other's game really well", said forward Brett Denniston.

"I think we'll be a dark horse team. People not expecting us to do much. but, i think we will have a big impact", said forward Corey Conway.

The DQ Grill and Chill Roundball preview show with air on Thursday, November 29th from 7-8pm on WYMT. That is when we will announce the initial Alice Lloyd College Mountain Top Ten for the both the boys and the girls.
