PRESTONSBURG Ky. (WYMT) - It is now time to announce our WYMT player of the week for week four of the high school football season.
This one wasn't difficult to decide. Record setting Prestonsburg quarterback Jarredd Jarrell is this week's player of the week. After throwing for a state record 676 yards against Pike Central, and tying a state record with nine touchdown passes. Earlier this week, Blackcat head coach John DeRossett spoke highly about his sophomore signal caller.
"Well it is good. And it says a lot for Jarredd as a sophomore", said DeRossett. "He kind of waited his turn last year. We had a great quarterback in Adam (Crisp), but he got a lot of drill work, he got a lot of reps. But he's a real heady player. He's real competitive. Sometimes he's almost so competitive that you get mad at him because you think he's got a bad attitude, but it's not that. He's just fiery, and he wants everybody around him to play hard. He wants you to coach him hard. And he's just a sophomore, but I think that's a good quality to have in a young kid."
