MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Following a prolific performance last week, Morehead State sophomore guard Almesha Jones has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference women's basketball Player of the Week.
Jones recorded career-highs of 31 points and six steals in the win over Kent State on Dec. 21. She scored the game-winning layup with 37 seconds left versus the Golden Flashes. She shot 12-for-17 from the field, including a career-best five three-pointers to go along with four assists. Jones averaged a team-high 17.0 points, 4.0 assists and 4.5 steals in the two games last week.
The Eagles are back in action on Friday hosting Bethel (Tenn.) at 5:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WIVY-96.3 FM and can be seen live on OVCDigitalNetwork.com.
