RICHMOND, Ky. (WYMT) - As a redshirt freshman former Johnson Central running back J.J. Jude is finding some success with the EKU Colonels.
Jude is EKU's leading rusher this season, totaling 294 yards and four touchdowns through the first four games, and Jude says his 5' 9", 191-pound stature, as well as his wrestling background, helps him succeed on the football field.
"No, not really. I mean, 5'7" cutting it a little bit short. Come on, now. Come on. 5' 9" at least. Give me 5' 9" at least. Just training and stuff, and just preparing your body, really," says Jude, who is the all-time leading rusher in Kentucky high school football. "Sometimes I feel like my height kind of plays into my advantage. I'm kind of short and stalky, and different leverage types and stuff. Going to the wrestling aspect, I wrestled in high school and stuff. Better balance and stuff to that effect."
