KHSAA announces football realignment, future state tournament sites

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WYMT) - During its Board of Control meeting Tuesday, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association finalized the high school football realignment that will take affect in the summer of 2015.

The Board of Control also discussed several other topics during Tuesday's meeting including future sites for state football, state softball, and the Girls Sweet 16.

The football state championship games will remain at Bowling Green at Western Kentucky University thru the 2018 season.

Jack C. Fisher Park in Owensboro will continue to serve as the site for the state softball tournament thru 2018.

The Girls Sweet 16 State Basketball Tournament will be held at WKU's E.A. Diddle Arena in Bowling Green for the 2014-15 season, but will move to Northern Kentucky University in 2016 and 2017.
