NASHVILLE, Tn (WYMT) - Kentucky’s match at Lipscomb on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m. ET has been added to the ESPN3 schedule it was announced by Lipscomb and the Atlantic Sun Conference on Wednesday.
The 3 p.m. contest will be produced from the state-of-the-art production suite in Allen Arena that is the hub of all on-campus productions for the Bisons. Thanks to the partnership with the conference, Lipscomb became the first A-Sun institution to produce on-campus productions for ESPN3 including the semifinals and finals of the 2012 A-Sun Volleyball Championship hosted at Allen Arena.
The Wildcats also have two television broadcasts slated for the 2013 schedule. UK’s match at Florida on Oct. 11 will air on Sports South at 6 p.m. ET. Furthermore, the Cats will travel to Georgia on Oct. 23 for an ESPNU broadcasted match at 6:30 p.m. ET.
UK and Lipscomb met on the hardwood a season ago, with UK claiming a 3-2 victory during the opening weekend of action. Kentucky claimed the fourth and fifth sets after falling behind 2-1 in the match. Whitney Billings had 15 kills and 11 digs in the victory.
The Blue and White return to action on Friday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. ET. UK hosts the Bluegrass Battle featuring Louisville, Pepperdine and Minnesota in the four-team field. UK takes on Pepperdine on Friday before meeting the fourth-ranked Gophers at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Kentucky's Memorial Coliseum will play host to the NCAA Regionals Dec. 13-14. UK is one of four sites selected for the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups with one team advancing to the Final Four in Seattle, Wash., from the Lexington Region. This marks the second time in three seasons Memorial Coliseum will host this premier volleyball event.
