ROCK HILL, S.C. -- LMU senior guard Dayshalee Salaman has been named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. She shares the honor with Tusculum's Kendal Baxter.
Salaman led Lincoln Memorial to an undefeated week and a share of the SAC lead by averaging 35 points on 60.5-percent shooting.
The senior guard poured in 36 against Tusculum on Wednesday, finishing 13-of-19 from the field and a perfect eight-for-eight from the foul line. She also moved to third on the LMU all-time scoring list and became only the fourth women's player (14th LMU player overall) to surpass 1,500 career points.
That performance was nearly duplicated on Saturday against Newberry, where Salaman went for 35 points and seven rebounds.
Overall, Salaman made 19-of-21 free throws over the two games while also averaging six rebounds and two steals per contest.
Tusculum's Baxter set SAC records by making 11 three-pointers in 20 attempts on Wednesday in TC's loss at Lincoln Memorial, finishing with a career-high 35 points.
The junior then scored 21 on Sunday in a victory over Wingate, capping off a 2-0 week for the Pioneers.
In addition to the hot shooting, Baxter also averaged 4.5 rebounds in the two games.
LMU travels to Mars Hill Wednesday for a SAC contest. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
