BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union women's basketball coach Tim Curry recently announced the Lady Bulldogs' 2013-14 schedule, and it features 16 home dates and 20 Appalachian Athletic Conference contests.
Curry is entering his 13th season at the helm of the Lady Bulldogs, boasting a 230-156 record during that time. Overall, Curry sports a career mark of 322-268.
Union will the 2013-14 campaign at Robsion Arena on Nov. 5 against Asbury (Ky.). Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. In all, the Lady Bulldogs will play 15 games at Robsion Arena with four in November, December and January each, and three in February. Ten of the home dates are AAC contests. The non-conference home opponents include Asbury, Pikeville (Ky.) (Nov. 30), Tennessee Temple (Dec. 13), Cumberlands (Ky.) (Dec. 14) and Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) (Feb. 15).
With the addition of Truett-McConnell (Ga.) to the league, there are 11 teams battling for the AAC championship this year. Consequently, conference play begins early with the Lady Bulldogs' first league game of the season set for No. 12 at Milligan (Tenn.). Union will play four league games in November and two more in December before finishing the remaining 14 conference games in January and February.
The conference tournament is set for Feb. 26-March 1 at the Marriott MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn.
Union finished the season 21-10 overall and 12-6 in conference play in 2012-13.
