MARTIN, Ky (WYMT) - Head Coach Joanna McNamee and the UPike women's basketball team signed some local talent this afternoon.
Piarist senior shooting guard Cathryn Calhoun signed to play with the bears for next season.
At Piarist, Calhoun is the all-time leader in steals, she's scored more than 13-hundred points, and this season alone she's averaging 21 points per game. She says UPike was the perfect fit.
"I'm just ecstatic, I'm so ready to get started over there. I think it's a really good fit for me, I've always wanted to go to UPike so I'm just really, really excited. I've been with these girls for pretty much my whole life, and we play together as a team. I just think they push me, they're happy for me, and I'm spending the last times I can play with them the best I can. Well I come from a small school anyway, and the college isn't that far away from me, and it's a smaller college so I think it was just the perfect fit. I've watched a couple of their games, and I just love the way they play." Said Calhoun.
