Lady Railsplitters unveil the schedule for the 2012-13 season

HARROGATE, TN -- The schedule for the 2012-13 season in Lady Railsplitters basketball has been released, Lincoln Memorial University head coach Roger Hodge announced Tuesday morning.
Entering into his second year at the helm of the LMU women's basketball program, Roger Hodge looks to build on last season's 14-13 mark, which stood as the first winning season for the Lady Railsplitters since the 2004-05 season.

The Lady 'Splitters are tabbed for 28 regular season contests along with two scrimmages and an exhibition to open the season. LMU begins competition on October 31st with a scrimmage against Roane State in Tex Turner Arena. On November 3rd, LMU travels to Division I opponent Gardner-Webb University for their final scrimmage.

A highlight of the season falls on November 6th as the Lady Railsplitters head to Murfreesboro, Tennessee to challenge another Division I adversary in Middle Tennessee State University for an exhibition contest.

The regular season for the Lady Railsplitters opens with a four-game homestand, beginning with the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge, which will see LMU host Erskine College on November 9th and Coker College on the 10th. Bryan College steps into the confines of Tex Turner Arena on November 14th. The homestand ends on November 20th as the Lady Railsplitters play host to Winston Salem State University.

The next five games come on the road for LMU, set off by traveling to Pensacola, Florida for the UWF Thanksgiving Tournament. The Lady 'Splitters play host, University of West Florida, on November 23rd, followed by University of West Alabama the next day.

South Atlantic Conference play begins on November 28th as the Lady Railsplitters travel to Greeneville, Tennessee to play rival Tusculum College in the conference opener. LMU then heads to Newberry College on December 2nd.

The Lady Railsplitters conclude the nonconference schedule with their next four opponents by traveling to Concord University (12/6) while hosting Lewis College (12/16), Queens University (12/19) and Milligan College (12/30).

The second half of the season begins on January 9th with the ladies traveling to Mars Hill College as the Lady Railsplitters become fully engulfed in South Atlantic Conference play. LMU plays host to Anderson University (1/12) and Brevard College (1/16) prior to traveling to Lenoir-Rhyne University (1/19) and Carson-Newman College (1/23).

Another highlight of the season comes to Tex Turner Arena on January 26th, as the Lady Railsplitters host defending South Atlantic Conference Champions, Wingate University, who advanced to the NCAA Southeast Region Finals last season. After hosting Tusculum College on January 30th, the Lady Railsplitters conclude the first round of conference play at Catawba College on February 2nd.
The noteworthy games in the second round of play include the February 20th contest between the Lady Railsplitters and Carson-Newman College in Tex Turner Arena. On March 2nd, the Lady Railsplitters look to avenge a loss to Catawba College in the SAC Quarterfinals from a season ago, as they host the Indians for the finale of the 2012-13 regular season.

The Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament is slated to begin on March 6th. The Lady Railsplitters look to walk the road towards capturing a SAC Championship on November 9th.
