We're just days away from our Appalachian Wireless game of the week, a matchup between two top-five teams in the No. 3 Harlan County Black Bears and the No. 5 Knox Central Panthers.
We took a trip to Harlan County Tuesday to speak with Black Bears head coach Tom Larkey about the game, and he said his scouting report looks just about like that of any other team that is about to take on Knox Central -- stop Jeffrey Canady.
"Well, if he's out wide you have to match up one of your better athletes, if you have one, with him to run with him and someone to tackle him," says Larkey. "He's a big kid and very strong and if he's back there at tailback and you hope your defensive line and linebackers can get to him and get a lot of bodies on him. If he gets through the line of scrimmage or gets around you on a sweep, he's likely to be gone on most people."
