Lee, Willis make it official with Wildcats

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Forwards Marcus Lee and Derek Willis signed national letters of intent on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.

Lee, the 6-foot-9 power forward from Deer Valley High in Antioch, Calif., said it was a relief to sign.

"It's a great feeling being official," Lee told the Mercury News. "It's just really great and relieving."

Lee, ranked the No. 30 overall prospect in the nation by ESPN, announced his oral commitment to Kentucky on Oct. 17, choosing the Wildcats over Cal. Now, all his extra hours in the gym and classroom have officially paid off.

"It's just one big relief knowing that if you do put in the work, it actually helps," Lee said.

Willis, a 6-foot-9 forward from Bullitt East High School in Shepherdsville, Ky., signed the paperwork Wednesday afternoon.

Twins Andrew and Aaron Harrison, and James Young round out Kentucky's Class of 2013. UK doesn't confirm signees until all have sent in their paperwork.
