Senior post player, Julie Cornett, joined the career Letcher Central 1,000 point club earlier this month. She joins fellow Lady Cougars Kelah Eldridge, Brittany Sexton, Haley Whitaker, and Sharaye Kincer on the 1,000 point club.
Cornett also topped the 800 rebound mark during January. She is currently averaging 12.3 points per game to go along with 8.3 rebounds per game. Julie has been a 3 year starter for LCC and has been instrumental is leading the Cougars to the current 16-5 ranking and the #1 spot in the WYMT Mountain Top Ten.
She has been a persistent all-tournament, all-district, and all-region player for the Lady Cougars basketball team. Julie also helped lead the Lady Cougar volleyball team to the 2012 KHSAA State Tournament. Julie was chosen 14th Region Volleyball Player of the Year for her efforts.
