Lincoln County beats Clay County 56-50

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Sydney Harris and Emily Fox scored 15
points apiece for Lincoln County and the Lady Patriots slipped by
Clay County for a 56-50 overtime win in the first round of the
girls' state tournament on Thursday night.

Region 12 champion Lincoln County (25-9) held the Lady Tigers to
just two points in the extra session, snapping Clay County's
10-game winning streak that dates back to Feb. 9.

Kourtney Belcher added 11 points for the Lady Patriots, who move
on to face Magoffin County in Friday's quarterfinal round.

Cheyenne Madden scored 19 points and Morgan Chestnut had 14 to
lead the Region 13 champion Lady Tigers (31-6) in a game where
neither team led by more than five until Lincoln County pulled away
in overtime.

Lincoln County, which shot 56.1 percent (23 of 41), increased
its advantage to as many as seven points in overtime.
