Lincoln County down Magoffin County 73-59

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Emily Fox scored 23 points, Sydney
Harris added 14 and Ciara Taylor chipped in 11 as Lincoln County
ran away late to a 73-59 win over Magoffin County Friday night in
the girls state tournament quarterfinals.

The Lady Patriots (26-9) built their cushion with Magoffin
County's top scorer, Jamie Castle, hampered by an ankle injury
suffered in the third quarter. Castle returned to the game but
didn't score again, finishing with 18 points.

Jasmine Howard scored 21 points to lead the Lady Hornets (29-4),
who had their 16-game winning streak snapped.

Lincoln County next faces Marion County in Saturday's semifinals
with a chance at moving on to the program's first championship game
later that night.

Fans presented a $2,000 check from a collection at the arena to
Magoffin County's principal at halftime of Friday's game, as the
school was among the areas affected in last week's statewide
tornado outbreak.
