Lou. Trinity's Beatty named Ky. Coach of the Year

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Louisville Trinity coach Bob Beatty is The
Associated Press' Coach of the Year in Kentucky after winning his
ninth high school football championship at the state's highest
level in the last 11 years.

Beatty's undefeated Shamrocks won each their games by double
digits and all five playoff games by at least 35 points despite
scheduling non-district games against out-of-state powers in Ohio,
Indiana and Tennessee.

That scheduling has earned Trinity, which sits at No. 1 in five
national polls, extra recognition.

Four Trinity players also made the all-state team - wide
receiver James Quick and defensive back Ryan White were on the
first team while quarterback Travis Wright and running back Dalyn
Dawkins made the second.

Beatty collected eight of the 15 votes in a poll of Kentucky
media members.
