Maroons know what to expect from Colonels

SOMERSET, Ky. (WYMT) - One of the bigger games taking place this Friday night is in class 5A, where the Pulaski County Maroons will host the Whitley County Colonels.

The last time these two teams played was back in 2009, which was also in the second round, but despite the three year gap between meetings, Pulaski coach John Hines says his team knows the Colonels, and what they will bring to Somerset come Friday night.

"Well, Whitley (County) is a very impressive football team," says Hines. "We scrimmaged them in the summer, back before the season started, so we've got a pretty good idea of what type of outfit they are. And of course, we've played them off and on for many years. Used to be in the same district back in the old 3A days. They're an outstanding football team. Coach (Jim) Black and his staff do a great job down there, and they bring a good, solid, physical football team to the table."
