LEXINGTON Ky. (WYMT) - Former Kentucky guard Julius Mays was one of two seniors on this year's team.
With the injury to Nerlens Noel in February, Mays was forced to become more of a leader on the court and it showed. Thursday, Mays talked about the next step in his basketball career and mentioned he'd like to get in to coaching.
"I just signed with an agent yesterday (Wednesday). I'm looking to continue working out. I've been working out since the season's been over", said Mays.
"Looking to continue to play, wherever that might be and wherever an opportunity presents itself. Just trying to keep playing a little bit. Further down the line, maybe end up back in Lexington and hopefully break my wind through coaching under Coach Cal. I just love the game", stated Mays.
"I don't think I could ever leave it alone. Whatever level it might be, college, high school, I just love the game. I enjoy teaching it, I enjoy playing it. So, I just want to always be around it. So, I think I'll enjoy doing that."
