Morton completes Boston Marathon

Updated: Tue 7:31 AM, Apr 19, 2011

On Friday, we told you about Harlan native C.D. Morton who qualified for the Boston marathon.

Morton crossed the finish line with an official time of three-hours and 35-minutes.

We caught up with Morton after the race who says running the race is an experience he'll remember for the rest of his life.

“I had no real expectations on times,” Morton says. “I just wanted to enjoy the day. Not sure I could've done much better than that but that was perfectly fine by me. I was happy to stay out there on the course and enjoy everything and I was happy to cross the finish line when it was over so all in all it was just a great day.”

“I had a great time,” Morton says. “The pain started setting in around mile 21 then it became just a matter of determination. It was hard to give up when you see thousands of people running beside you and around you people cheering you on along the way.”
