BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - The injury bug played a big part in the Bulldogs' season last year, and one position most affected was quarterback.
When starter Mike Brinkley went down in the very first game of the season, former Williamsburg quarterback Ryan Moses was called upon to step in, and did very well. However, Moses says the opportunity came unexpectedly.
"It's actually really funny on that", said Moses. "Going in to that game, I was third on the depth chart, so I didn't really, I didn't wear my thigh pads that game. I wasn't expecting to go in at all. About the third quarter I realized what was going to happen. To say it was nerve racking would undersell it. Coming back here and starting my second game in front of the home crowd, I mean, I was pretty nervous too. As the season progressed I started learning the offense and things became a lot easier and I understood what the coaches wanted me to do."
