Moses & Haddix Named MSC Players of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Union College's Ryan Moses, University of Pikeville's Jade Haddix and Shorter University's Jonny Sitton are the Mid-South Conference Football Players of the Week for the week ending Oct. 1, conference officials announced on Monday.

The weekly conference honor is the second this season for Sitton while Moses and Haddix earns their first weekly conference award of the season. Sitton also earned the award on Sept. 12.

Moses threw for 310 yards and three touchdowns to earn MSC Offensive Player of the Week.

The Williamsburg, Ky., sophomore quarterback completed 18 of his 24 passes for his first career 300-yard passing day in the Bulldogs' 24-19 win over University of the Cumberlands.

Moses connected on touchdown passes of 5, 6 and 60 yards to help Union beat Cumberlands in the Battle of the Brass Lantern.

Through five games this season, Moses is seventh in the MSC averaging 149.2 passing yards per game. He has five touchdown tosses compared to just three interceptions this season.

Union improves to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the MSC West Division.

Haddix recorded a pair of interceptions and recovered a fumble on Saturday to earn MSC Defensive Player of the Week.

The Jackson, Ky., sophomore defensive back helped the Bear defense to force nine turnovers in a 37-30 win at No. 19-ranked Campbellsville University. Haddix added 10 tackles to his afternoon.

This season, Haddix ranks fourth on the team with 23 tackles and second with the two interceptions. His two picks are tied for ninth best in the conference.

With the win, Pikeville improves to 4-1 on the season and 1-0 in the MSC East Division.
