Nickell named KIAC women's Player of the Week

PIPPA PASSES, Ky. - Alice Lloyd College junior Ariel Nickell was named the KIAC women’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, February 4th. This is her third player of the week award of the season.

The Eagles won their only contest this week defeating Indiana University Southeast 83-59. Nickell became the first Alice Lloyd player to record 30 points and 20 rebounds in a single game. She finished the game with 39 points and 21 rebounds. The junior forward shot 50 percent (10-of-20) from the field and 75 percent (3-of-4) from behind the 3-point line. She also made 80 percent (16-of-20) of her free-throw attempts. Nickell ranks 2nd in NAIA Division II points per game (24.33) and 2nd in rebounds per game (12.23).

Alice Lloyd College is currently 14-10 overall and 8-5 in conference play. They will return to action on February 7th when they host Asbury University.
