Alice Lloyd College sophomore Ariel Nickell was named the KIAC women’s basketball player of the week by KIAC officials on Monday, January 30th. This is her second conference player of the week award of the season.
Alice Lloyd won both contests last week. Nickell recorded a double-double in an 83-74 win over Asbury College. She finished with 18 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 assists. The sophomore forward also had 28 points and 7 rebounds in a 72-70 win at Brescia University. For the week, Nickell averaged 23 points and 11.5 rebounds. She made 42.9 percent from the field (15-of-35) including 45.5 percent from behind the arc (5-of-11). Her average of 20.78 points per game currently ranks fifth in NAIA Division II.
The Eagles are currently 7-17 overall and 4-2 in conference play. They will return to action on January 31st when they host Berea College for a conference game.
